All Zenith Bank Branches In Owerri were on Thursday sealed over the non-payment of the entitlements of Former Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere by the state government.
Customers and staff of Zenith Bank who came for normal banking transactions were stranded in the various branches of the bank in Owerri, Imo State as police sealed up the financial institution.
The bank’s branches were reportedly locked up as a result of the absolute Garnishee Order by the National Industrial Court, obtained by the former Deputy Governor of the State in respect of the non-payment of entitlements of the former deputy governor.
Madumere served as deputy governor during the tenure of Rochas Okorocha as governor of Imo State. He was formerly Chief of Staff before he was sworn in as deputy governor after the impeachment of his predecessor, Jude Agbaso, by the Imo House of Assembly.
Madumere also survived series of failed impeachment plots allegedly sponsored by his estranged friend and political associate, Okorocha.
