The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Wemi Jones, has eulogised the winner of the Kogi State Most Beautiful Girl Peagant of 2021/2022, Queen Khadijat Jimoh Onayi for facilitating 200 units of NCE schorlaships at #146,000 (One Hundred and Forty Six Thousand Naira) a grant per annum to the state.
The scholarships to be sponsored by Grand Plus College of Education in Ilorin, Kwara State is effective for the 2022-2024 academic sessions for fifty beneficiaries from each of the Senatorial Districts in the state and fifty non indigenes
The organisers of Miss Kogi Beauty Peagant, Triple A Events and Entertainment group led Queen Khadijat to hand over the 200 forms for the award of the scholarships to the management of the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Lokoja on Thursday for issuance to beneficiaries to be determined by the Ministry.
Reacting to the novel and laudable initiative of Queen Khadijat who hails from Okehi LGA of the State, the Commissioner commended her outstanding performance with positive impact on the lives of the youths; describing her as unique among equals.
He praised her for laying down her laurels for even distribution among the youths, while further encouraging her to draw more gains to the state.
Mr. Jones promised that the principles of equity, justice and fairnes which had been the resolute stand of Governor Yahaya Bello and in turn, the present administration would be implored in issuing out the scholarships.
“Governor Yahaya Bello believes in equity, justice and fairness. He has eradicated the era of a few corner it all in the state. We will use the same principles to issue out the scholarships”, he averred.
He congratulated the organisers of Miss Kogi Beauty Peagant for creating the right values and preventing talents harvest from the state to other places, admonishing them to continue in same spirit and not to lose focus by distractions from pecuniary gains of the moment.
He said the state government would always uplift the entertainment industry being an area that could draw huge funds to the state, and by direct and indirect employment, increase the Internally Generated Revenue.
Earlier, the CEO of Triple A Events and Entertainment, Mr. Abdulsalam Abdulkareem commended the state government for creating an enabling environment for the success achieved by the organisation and thanked the Ministry for her support.
Queen Khadijat said she had fought for the scholarships to help alienate the suffering of young people like her who presently might find sponsorship difficult at colleges of education.
Triple A Events and Entertainment started organising the Kogi State Beauty Peagant in 2012 with the latest competition making the tenth in the series.
The best pageant in Nigeria was won by Triple A, the organiser of Miss Kogi Beauty Peagant in 2021.
