The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones, has challenged the good people of the state to embrace peace and tolerance of one another as a way of building unity and accelerated development across the three senatorial districts of the state.

The Commissioner made the call in his Christmas Message to the people of the state urging Christians to imbibe and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ by upholding his virtues and ideals.

According to him, Christmas is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ which is associated with love, joy, peace, tolerance and kindness to one another.

He enjoined the people to emulate the virtues of Christ by showing genuine love, peace, tolerance and respect for one another and to see the celebration as an avenue for rededication of their lives to service of humanity and nation building.

“Christmas signifies hope and salvation brought to the world in need of redemption.

”The world would be a better place if the values and virtues reflected by the holy birth of Christ, especially love for one another were practiced faithfully”.

He assured the people that the APC Government in the state under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, would continue to consolidate on its foundation of development and growth that successive generations can build on especially in education.

”On behalf of myself and my family, the management and staff of Kogi State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, I wish you the best of the Yuletide season.

”May this Christmas season end the present year on a cheerful note and make way for a fresh and bright New Year. Season’s Greetings to you all”.
