Arsenal could negotiate a player swap with Barcelona should they opt to let Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave next month.
The forward has been stripped of the captaincy and overlooked for selection after committing a disciplinary breach.
Currently the Gabon international is training alone and faces an uncertain future, with 18 months left to run on his deal.

Mikel Arteta may look to offload Aubameyang, who has previously been reprimanded for disciplinary issues,
Football.london reports that Arsenal are open to a January exit, with the player too assessing his options.
Barcelona have been linked in the past and could look to bolster their forward options by tabling a swap deal.
Such a move could suit both parties with the Catalans no doubt having players that would suit the Gunners.
Philippe Coutinho would be among those and has been linked with a Premier League return.

Barcelona are yet to see the best of the Brazilian, who joined them in January 2018.
Several managers have tried and failed to get the best from the playmaker, who cost well over £100m.
Arsenal are not short of playmakers with Emile Smith Rowe and Martin Odegaard in their ranks, but Coutinho is equally as capable of playing from the wing.
His teammate Ousmane Dembele is another man who continues to be linked with the exit door.
The Frenchman is another £100m plus signing who has been unable to deliver consistently, which injuries hampering him.

The Gabonese star has been overlooked for Arsenal’s last four games and will soon jet off for international duty.
Arteta was quizzed on the reasons behind stripping the striker of the captaincy and said: “The decision we have taken as a club is very clear.
“It is because we believe he has failed to be committed as the level we all expect and agree. It is as simple as that.
“What I expect from any person in this football club, that is representing this badge, is passion and that he gives absolutely 100%, that he puts the club in front of any personal interests and is able to do anything to fulfil the badge we have on the chest.
“Apart from that, you can listen to individuals and you can understand different cultures, but that commitment and passion has to be there. Unfortunately, it wasn’t.”
