No fewer than five persons have died after in a fatal crash on Sunday night at Zalanga village along Bauchi-Darazo Road, Bauchi State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps, Bauchi State Sector Commander, Yusuf Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident said five others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
He said that the crash involved a commercial Volkswagen Sharon bus belonging to the National Union of Road Transport Workers driven by one Isa Mohammed and a trailer.
He said, “The unfortunate incident occurred last night, at 10:00 pm at Zalanga village along Bauchi-Darazo road. The crash involved two vehicles. It was caused by an obstruction on the road by the trailer and the bus rammed into it.
“When we were called, our men rushed there within 39 minutes and rushed the victims to the Darazo General Hospital for treatment and confirmation.’’
“It was at the hospital that a medical doctor confirmed five people dead. Five others sustained various degrees of injuries,” he added.
