The first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup second round between Nigeria’s Rivers United and Al Masry of Egypt will be played at Enyimba’s stadium in Aba.
The venue was confirmed this Monday morning after The Confederation of African Football failed to approve the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
The African Football Governing Body stated that the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium is not in the right condition to host continental matches at the moment, despite hosting the match between Rivers United and Young Africans of Tanzania September 19th.
The management of the Rivers United have now confirmed Enyimba’s international stadium in Aba as their temporary home for the game.
“The Enyimba International Stadium Aba will act as our home ground for the CAF Total Energies Confederation Cup Additional Round Playoff tie against Al Masry of Egypt on 28th November 2021.” Rivers United said in a statement.
Rivers United will host Al Masry of Egypt in the first leg before travelling to Cairo for the return fixture.
The overall winner over the two legs will advance to the lucrative Group phase of the competition.
