The International Organisation for Peace Building and Social Justice (PSJ) has called on the United States to appoint a special envoy on Nigeria and the Lake Chad region to tackle the matter of religious violence in the region.
PSJ also called on US policy markers to “direct the US Department of Treasury to use all assets at their disposal to stop the genocide as well as cease further aid to Nigeria unless it demonstrates efforts to stop the genocide.
PSJ president Dr Richard Ikiebe made the call following a meeting of PSJ leaders with US policymakers in Washington DC last week.
Leaders joining Dr.Ikiebe included Major Abdallah Baikie, Rtd. of PSJ; Stephen S. Enada, president and cofounder of the International Committee on Nigeria (ICON); Kyle Abts, co-founder of ICON; Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council (FRC); and Reverend Johnnie Moore, President of the Congress of Christian Leaders (CCL); among others.
