Nigeria’s leading tabloid, The Sun Newspaper on Thursday threw some of its staff to the labour market after a mass sack which affected top staff of the Editorial Department.
Publisher of the newspaper and former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, was said to have approved the mass sack after what observers said was his displeasure at some of those affected not meeting the revenue generation expectations.
Top of those affected by the sack include the Deputy Managing Director, Steve Nwosu who confirmed that he was affected by the reorganization.
Three General Managers; the Editor of the Sunday title, Alhaji Fatai Oladehinde; Ikenna Emewu; Editor, Sporting Sun, John Joshua Akanji. Yinka Fabowale and Emeka Okoroyanwu were also affected in the mass sack.
