Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere with Pastor Mike Agbahime and son shortly after his condolence after the burial of late Bridget Agbahime yesterday in Amaukwu-Orodo, Mbaitoli Local Government of ImoState yesterday.
Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has reiterated Imo State Government stance against religious and ethnic intolerance, describing it as the greatest threat to the unity and development of Nigeria.
Prince Madumere stated this on Saturday at the country home of Pastor Mike Agbahime in Amaukwu-Orodo in Mbaitoli local government of Imo State during the burial of the remains of his wife Mrs. Bridget Agbahime whose life was cut down at Kofar Wambei area of Kano metropolis by alleged Muslim mob.
Speaking shortly after the funerals, Prince Madumere said the purpose of his visit was to mourn and condole the people of Amaukwu-Orodo and Imo State and beyond over the unfortunate passing of Bridget Agbahime.
He described the manner in which she was cut down as most barbaric, wicked and inhuman.
He called for calm and peace since the consolation is that she died in The Lord going by the flood of testimonies by people who knew her.
While commending the Government of Kano State led by His Excellency, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje for collaborating with the security agencies to arrest the culprits, he told the people that he is hopeful that justice will be done.
He also charged the Chief Mourner and the husband of late Bridget Agbahime to be courageous and take solace in The Lord. He assured him and the family they are not alone in the period of mourning and he prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
In his response, Pastor Mike Agbahime who is of Deeper Life Bible Church thanked Governor Okorocha, his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere for having been visible since the occurrence of the unfortunate incident that caused the death of his wife.
He used the opportunity to bare his mind, saying he believes in justice and all that he requests of government of Kano State and the Federal Government of Nigeria is nothing but justice.
It will be recalled that two suspects who were linked to the gruesome murder of late Agbahime whose names were given as Dauda Ahmed and Subeinu Abubakar were arrested two months ago according to Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olabisi Kolawole.
