How Fulani herdsmen ruptured woman’s stomach, killed others in Enugu

Images have emerged of those killed in the recent attack in Enugu by Fulani herdsmen.
This is, as Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu have expressed displeasure over the latest attack by Fulani Herdsmen on an Ndiagu Attakwu community in Akegbe Ugwu, Nkanu West Local Government Area of the state, where a catholic seminarian and two others were killed and injured 4 persons.The governor condemned the dastardly act in its entirety. He vowed that those who perpetrate the heinous act will not go unpunished, adding his administration will not tolerate the wanton destruction of lives and property in the state by the herdsmen. The governor stormed the herdsmen settlement inside a thick forest apparently to express his displeasure over the heinous act, only to discover that the herdsmen had fled. The governor prayed for the repose of the seminarian and quick recovery of the survivors.

The Catholic Bishop of Enugu, Dr. C.V.C Onaga who visited the grief-stricken community, also condemned the attack and expressed sadness over the incident. He prayed for peace and unity of the country, calling for a permanent solution to the menace of the herdsmen in the country.

The governor has summoned an emergency meeting with the security agencies and Fulani community in the state today at the Government House, Enugu. of Enugu State visits Ndiagu Attakwu community in Akegbe Ugwu, Nkanu West Local Government Area of the state, where suspected Fulani herdsmen killed a catholic seminarian and injured 4 persons. The governor condemned the dastardly act in its entirety. He vowed that those who pepertrated the heinous act will not go unpunished, adding his administration will not tolerate the wanton destruction of lives and property in the state by the herdsmen. In a statement by his media aide, Ekweremadu bemoaned the incessant attacks on parts of the country by herdsmen, saying it posed a grave threat to the peace, security, and economy of the country.

“This is another heartbreak, not only for Enugu State, but the nation in general; and whatever evil forces behind these reprehensible acts certainly do not wish the country well. It must not be condoned.

“The primary object of government is the welfare and security of the citizens. The Federal Government must take decisive steps to put a full stop to this wanton destruction of lives and property; and the security agencies must do everything humanly possible to ensure that the perpetrators of this act of wickedness in Akagbe-Ugwu do not go unpunished”.

The Deputy President of the Senate condoled with the affected community and prayed for the peaceful repose of the dead.
