Anambra Chief Judge Kicks Off NBA Soccer Tournament

Anambra State Chief Judge, Hon Justice Peter N. C. Umeadi, weekend kicked Off the Arthur Obi Okafor (SAN) Soccer Tournament for all the eight branches of Nigeria Bar Association in the State.
Speaking at the venue of the tournament, Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Onitsha, the Chief Judge said the tournament would help to keep fit after focusing on litigation matters.
He commended Arthur Obi Okafor, the sponsor, for organizing the tournament for lawyers in the state adding that “we in the judicial sector will always assist him in this soccer fitness whenever the need arises”.
Also speaking, the sponsor, Arthur Obi Okafor stated that the tournament is to help in relaxation after legal commitments by the bar and bench”.
He pledged that it would be an annual event and that talented players would be fished out to represent the State in national competitions of the NBA.
According to the sponsor, trophy would be presented to the best team that won the competition while cash will also be presented to the best goalkeeper and player.
He commended the Chief Judge for finding out time to be physically present despite his tight schedules.
Also speaking, the Chairman of all the Chairmen of the eight NBA branches in the State, S. U. Anyia, who is also the Aguata branch Chairman, revealed that the final match would be played in Awka the State Capital.
He said that with this tournament, it shows that the eight branches are united indivisible body that must speak with one voice.
Also speaking, the former Ihiala branch chairman of NBA, Emma Egbunonu expressed satisfaction with the efforts of the sponsor towards a united NBA.
