Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has felicitated with the First Lady and wife of the Governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha over the successful matriculation of Owerri Zone 2016 Batch ‘A’ Students of Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha Skills Acquisition Center at Ulakwo, Owerri North Local Government of Imo State.
Prince Madumere made this commendation while representing the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha during the Matriculation ceremony of 2016 batch ‘A’ students of Nneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha Acquisition Center earlier today.
In his address, he described a great feat that is in consonance with the Rochas Okorocha led Rescue Mission Administration’s policy plank among others to build industrial base for Imo State through training of entrepreneurship.
He emphasised the effort of the wife of the Governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha in spreading through her people oriented programmes. He stressed the impacts of her “She Needs a Roof” programme, where she built over 200 two bedroom tastefully furnished apartments for the indigent widows in Imo State.
Speaking further, he stressed on the import of the Center as a research and practical Center, which he said would reduce crime, unemployment and make Imo a more productive and respectable State especially given the present global economic downturn.
He however expressed gladness how Owelle led Administration has succeeded on free and qualitative education, which he said has broken all records and have at various times represented Nigeria world competitions, and does not see the reason the State will succeed to building a formidable industrial base if all hands are on the deck.
Advising the Matriculants, he told to be focused and learn everything best especially in the areas of their chosen specialty including good conduct, which he said will them through life.
He therefore called on the good people of Imo State and friends and people of goodwill to rally round the First Lady of Imo State to ensure that the project succeed and is sustained.
Speaking after, The First Lady and wife of the Governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha showered encomium on her lovely husband, the Governor of Imo State for his role and giving her room to contribute her quota in development of Imo State.
She said the Acquisition Center is in consonance with the Rescue Mission industrial development and job creation policy.
while thanking the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, the Chairman of the Occasion, Prince Alex Mbata for taking the projects as theirs and for mobilizing friends and well wishers to make the event a successful one.
She however described the Acquisition Center, which she is the Founder and Visitor as a place of practical teachings of skills in the diverse areas like photography, Cosmetology, Fashion and Designing, Computer Training and many other areas.
She said the ultimate goal is to train entrepreneurs who will in no distant become captains of industries and employers of labour.
Earlier, the Imo State representatives promised to partner with the centers to train Imolites on Skills and help make it Sustainable. Among the House of Representatives members present were, Chief Jerry Alagboso, Hon. Nnanna Igbokwe and Deacon Chike Okafor.
The Highpoint of the occasion was the exhibition of range of products produced by students of the Skills Acquisition Center barely three weeks of their training.
