Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has described the legislature as an indispensable arm of government in democracy, saying it supposedly remains an instrument through which the heartbeat of the people are felt and are addressed.

Prince Madumere made this remark last Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Eziachi autonomous in Orlu local government area during a grand civic reception in honour of Chief Marcel Odunze, member of Imo State House of Assembly representing Orlu State Constituency.
The number two citizen of Imo State who was represented by his Adviser on Public Affairs, Dr. Ifeanyi Ekenasi averred that the beauty of democracy is embedded in the principle of separation of powers where no decision is taken unilaterally without going through checks and balances from other arms of government.
He commended the understanding that exists between the Executive and the Legislature arms in Imo State in issues that are of great importance to the welfare and security of the people. He therefore used the forum to thank members of Imo State House of Assembly and not to relent in the kind of support and cooperation they extended to Owelle Rochas Okorocha led Rescue Mission Government in the last dispensation in the present dispensation.
He showered encomium on Hon. Marcel Odunze for the forthright leadership he has shown since his election as member representing Orlu State constituency.
He used the forum to call on the people of Imo State at home and in diaspora to devote no time to listening to negative gossips; vicious propaganda and baseless innuendo concocted and dished out for destructive purposes. He assured that Rescue Mission government will continue to pay attention to constructive criticisms with decent language and well-thought out proffered solutions.
Earlier in his speech, the Chief Whip and member representing Orlu State Constituency in the House of Assembly, Hon. Marcel Odunze thanked the people of his autonomous community, Eziachi for the t civic reception, which he described as an honour. He also showered encomium on Governor Okorocha and his Deputy for their team work in ensuring that Imo keeps-on on the path of progress and development.
He also used the opportunity to thank Governor Okorocha for the electricity and water projects in the community, which are ongoing. He also appealed to the Governor on behalf of the community to help them bring the projects to completion since they will stimulate development in the community and other neighbouring communities of Orlu local government area especially at this time the plank of Rescue Mission government is building an industrial base through agro-allied industries and small and medium enterprises.
Deputy Governor through Dr. Ekenasi assured the people of Eziachi he will take their request to the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha who he described as a listening Governor.
