Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere on Tuesday received a delegation of German based investors in his office who indicated interest to establish power plants in Imo, signaling that Rescue Mission administration led by Governor Okorocha’s effort at industrializing Imo State has begun to yield dividends.
Addressing the German based investors, Prince Eze Madumere stated that Imo State government will not go back in its promise to play its role to enable investors who have the sincere intention of investing in the State to achieve so without any hindrance.
The number two citizen of Imo State who received the German investors on behalf of Governor Okorocha in his office assured his visitors of the government readiness to help by ensuring the business environment is made conducive with other incentives.
He lamented the dearth of SME, which he attributed to problem of power. He therefore assured the group of the government’s support since power remains the key for revitalization of SMEs and establishment of industries in the State.
He commended the leader of the delegation, Engr. Wilson Chukwunyere who happens to be a son of Imo State for his effort in bringing his partners to Imo state, which he described as patriotic.
Speaking earlier, Engr. Wilson Chukwunyere said it has been his desire to contribute his quota towards building an industrial base in the State. He revealed that the first attempt was when they intended to establish motorcycle plant under the administration of Chief Sam Mbakwe of blessed memory, which was thwarted by the Military incursion into politics.
He stated that he has come with his partners who are willing to establish a 50 megawatts power plant and another 30 megawatt Solar Energy Power plant. He however stressed the need for government to provide them with enabling environment.
Meanwhile the Business Development Manager of the said Company, Mr. Volker Gutijahr expressed gratitude to the State government for welcoming them to the State. He also assured the State government that they will not disappoint if given the opportunity.
