Nothing could be as powerful and controlling in human life as much as the mind.
It is not about what’s right or wrong but once it is prompted, the mind has the power to blow up the matter all the way to the end whether good or bad.
You would want to be careful with that kind of “absolute power”.
The mind operates by a method of replay that highlights and amplifies exactly what you fed into it. Let’s use a common challenge like malaria to illustrate the operation of the mind.
In many cases, a person does not go down with one illness or the other because the fellow was ordained to or the disease was lurking somewhere in the air. The mind can help to bring it about. It may just start as a mild headache which could have gone away on its own after a minute and never reappears.
But if the person “assumes” in her thoughts that “she has malaria” and chooses to “treat” it with “a little rest”, she has prompted her mind with that assumption in her thoughts and the treatment as a follow-up action.
After some hours of sleeping, she would wake up having two symptoms – a headache as well as general body weakness. By two seemingly innocent acts; the assumption that she has malaria and the rest administered to treat it, the mind has received and registered on its “To Actualise List” the subject “malaria”!
Now she would be “aided” to think malaria, talk malaria and probably would end up dreaming about malaria. By this time, the mind is fully engaged – with malaria.
Eventually, this fellow would come down with malaria or some other sickness. Why? Her mind had become wired to disease mode which made her act like she was sick and in a matter of time she would realise what she had been expecting.
Some other people with the same initial symptoms may “believe” in their thoughts that one act or another would bring “healing”, and strange enough, their belief recipe for relief will continue to work for them.
In this case, the mind picked up the impulses of “believe and healing” and went to work on one to achieve the other. The idea here is not to encourage anyone to live with illnesses but to develop a positive attitude that always expects the best and nothing else.
One major reason for the failure many people encounter in their pursuits is not because they were created without talents. But before a lot of people embark on a line of action, they have already convinced themselves that they are incapable of doing that which they desire or they do not qualify for certain privileges.
They spend their time thinking of how to move on after their failure, how they would try again and still fail. Some even consider several styles of committing suicide as a method of ending their suffering. You’d probably find them surfing the net for “painless ways to die”!
The mind is ruled by two major forces – fear and confidence – which would either discourage or keep you engaged in the game of life. Whereas fear will discourage you from attempting anything, confidence, on the other hand, will motivate you to be adventurous and to experiment with lots of things which would eventually bring you satisfaction and possibly happiness.
We must note that not only will a large portion of our fears be groundless, the parasite “fear” will cause its host an untold misery such as hypertension which could lead to stroke and death.
We should also be aware that the mind functions via what we think or expect. So it is important that we stay positive at all times. To derive positive results out of life, it is of the essence that we put a leash on our thoughts.
One of the major ways to realise the things we want in our lives is through the word of mouth.
The mind can be forgetful, so it is important that we keep declaring over our lives the things we want to manifest. Iteration is key.
This is one of the major ways to realise the things we want in our lives is through the word of mouth. This is because if you continue to tell yourself a particular thing, your mind ends up believing this, thereby causing you to experience your expectation.
This theory simply implies that if a timid person continues to tell herself that she is confident, she soon becomes confident. So also, if a girl continues to tell herself that she is stupid or worthless, she soon acts the part.
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.
Therefore, we must all strive to be positive and to say only about ourselves and the people in our lives the prophesies we will be glad to see fulfilled.
