Police detective from ‘B’ Division in Owo have started combing the ancient town and its neighbourhood in search of a man, one Damilare Olanrewaju who was alleged to have beaten his wife, Mrs. Wumi Olanrewaju, to death.
It was reliably gathered that the cause of the fight which eventually resulted to the death of the victim is yet to be ascertained . Findings by Nigerian Pilot Sunday revealed that the incident which took the life of the middle age woman occurred last week.
The source revealed that the suspect who is now at large beat his wife to a state of coma at their residence on Uka street Owo in Owo local Government area of Ondo state. According to findings, the victim was said to have sustained a serious injury on her head before she was rushed to a private hospital in the town.
All efforts, according to our source, to revive her by the medical personnel proved abortive as she was said to have given up in the process. Police report confirmed that one Olayinka Adeniyi who resides at number 17, Osama street Owo reported the matter at ‘B’ Division , Owo.
The complainant who claimed to be the mother of the victim explained that her daughter was severely beaten by her husband, Damilare Olanrewaju who inflicted deep injury on her head that caused her death. Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP, Wole Ogodo disclosed that detectives had visited the scene and took some photographs.
He hinted that the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy adding that efforts are being intensified to apprehend the suspect and ring him to book. From: nigerianpilot.
