As part of its strategy to equip women with the capacity to fully
participate in the forth-coming Primaries and Congresses, the Peoples
Democratic Party shall hold a one-day Workshop for all its Female
Aspirants on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at the Banquet Hall of the
Presidential Villa, Abuja, at 10:00am.
The Workshop which is organized by the National Woman Leader of the
Party Amb. Kema Chikwe shall be hosted by Her Excellency, the First Lady
of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Dame Patience Jonathan and supported
by the Hon. Minister of Women Affairs Hajiya Zainab Maina.
A statement by the National Woman Leader says the aim of the Workshop is
to maximize the gains of President Goodluck Jonathan’s drive for
increased female representation in elective and public offices and to
prepare all female Aspirants including all the incumbents for the task
of contesting for elective positions in 2015.
Resource persons are drawn from seasoned political stakeholders while
the International Republican Institute (IRI) shall provide technical
support.
