The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State says it will adhere to internal democracy in efforts to promote good governance in the country.
Mr J.D Ephraim, the State Organising Secretary of the party, gave the assurance at a news conference on Saturday in Kaduna.
“We will ensure that the party is guided by internal democracy in everything we do,’’ he said.
Ephraim noted that the lack of internal democracy was responsible for the internal problems of several political parties in Nigeria, adding that the development was an abuse of the rules governing democracy.
He gave the assurance that the APC would always respect the decisions of the majority and the people’s choice of candidates without imposing unpopular decisions and candidates on the party.
He said that the party would adhere to its constitution and manifesto to maintain internal democracy, while promoting the rule of law in all its activities.
