Ahead of the Anambra State supplementary election billed for this weekend, an Igbo cultural organization,
Igboezue Unity Association of Nigeria, (IUAN) has commenced mobilization of its members in preparation to ensure more votes for All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.
Addressing newsmen in Onitsha, the national Chairman of IUAN, Chief Pius Uchenna Okoye and secretary, Hon. Flanklyn Okoye described Prof. Attahiru Jega, chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, resolve to organize for the supplementary election instead of outright concellation of the entire result as a welcome development adding that APGA leadership in the result so far released by INEC,as good omen for the Igbo nation solidify .
The duo recalled that IUAN participated actively during the election to ensure that it was free, fair and
credible.
According to them President Goodluck Jonathan campaign in Onitsha for PDP prior to the election portrayed him as a
father to all irrespective of political party affiliation.
They commended Professor Attahiru Jega, chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,
Governor Peter Obi, Chief Willie Obiano, APGA candidate, APGA National chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, security operatives, rights groups and the people in the state for their efforts to ensure smooth conduct of the election.
Both IUAN chieftains appealed to Chief Obiano to follow the footsteps of Governor Obi if sworn-in as the successor to
help provide dividend of democracy to the people.
