Activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) remained on the upbeat on Tuesday with the All-Share Index appreciating further by 0.53 per cent.
The All-Share Index improved by 202.11 points to close at 38,255.86 points compared with 38,053.75 recorded on Monday.
The market capitalisation improved by 0.53 per cent or N65 billion to close at N12.236 trillion from the N12.171 trillion posted on Monday.
Nestle, for the second consecutive day, recorded the highest price growth, gaining N21.22 to close at N1,200 per share.
Dangote Cement, the most capitalised equity on NSE, followed with N3 to close at N190, while UACN garnered N1.50 to close at N65 per share.
Oando rose by N1.31 to close at N14.12, while Transcorp gained 41k to close at N4.14 per share.
Conversely, Mrs Oil topped the losers’ table, declining by N3.90 to close at N52 per share.
It was trailed by Glaxosmithkline with a loss of N3.35 to close at N63.65, while Conoil went down by N3.30 to close at N68.90 per share.
Mobil Nigeria dropped N2.90 to close at N116, while CAP depreciated by N2.58 to close at N49.07 per share.
Despite the growth in market indices, the volume of shares traded dropped marginally by 8.84 per cent with 786.39 billion shares worth N4.85 billion traded in 5,211 deals.
This was against a total of 862.69 million shares valued at N5.71 billion traded in 5,639 deals on Monday.
UBA Capital led on the activity chart, accounting for 250.09 million shares worth N322.69 million.
It was followed by Transcorp with a total of 99.92 million shares valued at N439.08 million, while African Prudential accounted for 63.25 million shares worth N123.94 million.
Ecobank Transnational Incorporated sold 53.80 million shares worth N750.61 million, while Unity Bank recorded a turnover of 42.13 million shares valued at N22.44 million
