The Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG) has expressed sadness of the sudden death of Baba Omojola.

A press release by ARG, signed by its media / publicity secretary, Mr. Kunle Famoriyo lamented that pro-democracy groups across the country have been gravely hit by the loss of the renowned activist.

The release read in part: “it is with hearts filled with grief that we of the Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG) received and confirmed the demise of Baba Omojola, our brother and compatriot in the struggle for the liberation of the common man in Nigeria.
“Though not a rich man, Baba was philanthropic in his life time: he gave all he had for humanity. He was always sharing the little he had to promote the course and wellbeing of the under privilege. Baba was a sage of a peculiar “ORDER” that made the development of man the centre of his life struggle.
“A rare gem among we freedom fighters and we know his position will surely be difficult to fill at this crucial time of our national history.
“Alas! He died after presenting a powerful paper in Akure on a Sovereign National Conference (SNC) for Nigeria. We will miss you Baba, the Yoruba Nation will miss you: but our consolation lies in the fact that you did not live a wasted life. We pray that your soul will rest in perfect peace. Adieu! Baba.”
