Three people lost their lives in an auto crash on Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Monday, the eve of eid-il-kabir celebration,
The accident which involved an articulated lorry with registration number XA 66KDG and a Jeep occurred at Soka Bridge, Ibadan.
Confirming the incident, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Oluyole Unit Commander, Mr. Sanya Adeoye said that although four people were trapped inside the lorry, three of them eventually gave up the ghost on the spot while only one of them survived.
The survivor, according to him, had been taken to Ibadan Central Hospital for treatment while the corpses of the deceased were deposited at Adeoyo State Hospital morgue.
The FRSC Unit Commander explained that the ill-fated trailer loaded with sugar was coming from Lagos when the accident occurred at the Soka bridge, Ibadan.
He also remarked that the accident was as a result of dangerous driving on the part of the driver of a Jeep who was trying to avoid a pothole on the bridge.
According to the FRSC Unit Commander, the driver of the long vehicle was trying to avoid hitting the Jeep when he fell off from the bridge.
