A UK-based Nigerian woman, Christine Chika Anyanwu, has shared her story of regaining the use of her legs after spending one year in paralysis.

Anyanwu, who resides in the United Kingdom, gave her testimony last Wednesday at Zion Ministry in Okota, Lagos. She recounted that her health challenges began on March 26, 2025, when she collapsed at her workplace in London and lost consciousness. She was later diagnosed with functional neurological disorder.

According to her, she spent four months admitted in a hospital in the UK before being discharged to continue treatment at home. During that period, she experienced repeated falls and multiple seizures, which she said resulted in spinal damage and worsened her condition. She remained confined to a wheelchair for a year, adding that medical specialists she consulted reportedly informed her that she was unlikely to walk again.

Anyanwu said she nearly lost hope but decided to travel to Nigeria following her mother’s advice to seek spiritual intervention at Zion Prayer Movement Outreach. She stated that despite discouragement from some family members and warnings from a Catholic nun, as well as medical advice against long-distance travel due to her condition, she proceeded with the trip.

During the ministry’s Adoration programme last Wednesday, the Spiritual Director of the church, Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi, noticed her seated on a mobility scooter and conducted a prayer session for her.

According to eyewitnesses at the service, Anyanwu subsequently stood up and began walking, drawing loud reactions from congregants in the auditorium.

She later returned to the altar to share her testimony, joined by her siblings and the nun who had initially advised her against making the trip. A video of the event has since circulated on social media.
