Arsenal secured qualification for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 with a commanding 3–1 victory over Inter Milan at the San Siro on Tuesday night.
A brace from Gabriel Jesus and a fine late strike from substitute Viktor Gyökeres sealed the win and guaranteed the Gunners a top-two finish in the league phase, with two matches still to play.
Arsenal took the lead early through Jesus, but Inter responded shortly after the break when Luka Sučić fired in a powerful equaliser. The visitors regained control when Jesus struck again, heading Arsenal back in front to restore their advantage.
Gyökeres, introduced from the bench, put the result beyond doubt late on, finishing off a swift counter-attack to cap an impressive away performance by Mikel Arteta’s side.
Arsenal’s qualification was further confirmed before kick-off following Manchester City’s shock defeat to Bodø/Glimt earlier in the evening, but the Gunners still needed victory to secure a top-two finish—and delivered convincingly in Milan.
The result maintains Arsenal’s strong European form this season and keeps momentum building as they head into the final fixtures of the league phase.
