The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has commenced the electronic registration of its members across the state’s 18 local government areas.
Governor Monday Okpebholo flagged off the exercise on Sunday at Irrua, his hometown in Esan Central Local Government Area, where he was officially registered and issued an APC membership card, becoming the first registered member under the new e-registration exercise in the state.
Expressing satisfaction with the process, Governor Okpebholo described the e-registration system as simple and accessible, urging party members and interested Edo residents to participate actively.
“I am delighted with this e-registration exercise. It is easy and straightforward for anyone with the required details such as a National Identification Number and voter’s card,” the governor said.
He encouraged eligible residents to register either at their wards and polling units or online, noting that the initiative would strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
Governor Okpebholo also commended the APC e-registration team and the party’s senatorial leader, Major General Cecil Esekhaigbe (rtd.), for monitoring the process.
Coordinator of the e-registration exercise in Esan Central Local Government Area, Otoanyenlen Eugene Osedebamen, said the initiative was designed to give equal opportunity to all party members.
He urged APC members to register at their respective polling units, assuring the governor of the party’s continued support for his administration.
