The Member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Afam Ogene, has boldly declared that “Ogbaru is Labour Party” as he led the governorship campaign train of Dr. George Moghalu to his constituency over the weekend.

Ogene, who hosted the Labour Party governorship candidate during the community-to-community tour of Ogbaru Local Government Area, said the people of Ogbaru had already demonstrated their loyalty to the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections and are ready to do so again in the forthcoming governorship contest.

According to him, only a Labour Party government at the state level can consolidate the gains already achieved by the party and guarantee equitable development for Ogbaru people.

We cannot do it alone. We need a Labour Party governor in Anambra State to consolidate the gains already achieved. Ogbaru is Labour Party,” Ogene told the mammoth crowd of supporters who trooped out in their numbers to welcome Moghalu’s campaign team.

The lawmaker commended constituents for their steadfastness and urged them to replicate the same level of support they gave him during the 2023 elections to ensure Moghalu’s victory in the governorship race.

The campaign train, which toured six major Ogbaru communities — Akili-Ozizor, Atani, Ohita, Odekpe, Iyiowa, and Okpoko was greeted with enthusiastic receptions, with Moghalu pledging to end the marginalization of the oil-rich and agriculturally strategic LGA if elected governor.

The visit also featured courtesy calls to traditional rulers, including HRH Igwe Augustine Azuka Ngoddy of Atani Kingdom and HRH Eze Emma Chuma Onyia, Akakwu of Odekpe Kingdom, where Moghalu received royal blessings for the journey ahead.

With Ogene’s rallying cry and the massive show of support, Ogbaru is already shaping up as a stronghold for the Labour Party in the governorship election.
