Actress and producer Teniola Aladese has shared the emotional journey she went through following the tragic loss of her ex-boyfriend, revealing how she grappled with anger towards God in the wake of his passing.

In a candid interview on With Chude, Aladese explained that her ex-boyfriend died just months after their breakup, leaving her devastated and questioning God’s reasons for taking him so soon. The actress, known for her role in The Christmas in Lagos, expressed how difficult it was to accept the loss, particularly because of his potential and the future he had ahead of him.

Aladese recalled how her ex-boyfriend, who was a talented writer and aspiring director, had big plans for the future, including expressing hopes that she would produce his films even after their relationship ended. She described how, despite their breakup, they remained friends, and his sudden death left a deep void not only in her life but also for his family and friends, especially his mother, who lost her only son.

“It was a huge blow – on me, on his friends, on his family members. I don’t even want to know how his mum copes. He was the only son. One daughter, one son,” she said.

Reflecting on her initial feelings of anger towards God, Aladese admitted she struggled to understand why someone so talented and full of potential had his life cut short so abruptly. She remembered asking herself, “Why would you allow this to happen?”

However, as time passed, she found comfort in the belief that her ex-boyfriend had fulfilled his purpose on earth. She now cherishes the memories of the good person he was and how his legacy lives on through those who knew him.

“What I use to console myself is that he was here for a purpose. He left his mark. All of us that were his friends remember him for who he was and for how good of a person he was,” Aladese shared.
