A man, Benedict Toju, has apologized to the Delta State Police Command after falsely accusing officers of stealing his manhood during a stop-and-search operation.

The incident was shared by the command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, in a video posted on his X handle on Thursday.

Edafe explained that Toju and his two friends were stopped by the police, and their vehicle was searched. Finding no incriminating items, they were allowed to continue on their way. However, Toju later returned with a bizarre claim that his manhood had disappeared during the search.

Edafe expressed surprise, stating, “We’ve heard many strange stories, but we’ve never encountered someone whose manhood actually disappeared. In such cases, we encourage individuals to go to court and explain how their manhood vanished when it is, in fact, intact.”

In his own account, Toju admitted that he felt a strange sensation after being released by the police. “I felt something odd after I left, so I came back to explain how I was feeling, which was wrong. I was brought to the station, and the DPO ordered a medical examination. The doctor confirmed that everything was intact,” he said.

When asked why he made the accusation without checking first, Toju explained, “I checked myself, but I panicked when it seemed smaller and shrunken. Later, I realized it was my fear causing the sensation.”

Reflecting on the situation, Toju expressed regret for his actions: “I feel bad because I made a false accusation. I’ve learned from this mistake, and I hope others will as well.”
