On the 11th of January, 2025, Lady Tessy Chidinma Anurukem knelt by her bedside, her heart heavy with sorrow and despair. The memory of her late husband, whom she had loved so dearly, consumed her thoughts. One year of marriage, so full of promise, joy, and hope, had been reduced to a cruel emptiness. The grief she felt was unimaginable, a weight that suffocated her soul.

Her hands trembled as she opened the Bible, seeking solace in the ancient words that had comforted millions before her. She turned to Psalm 91, as if it might offer her the miracle she so desperately craved. With a whisper, she began to recite the verses aloud:

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.”

Tears streamed down her face, mingling with the words as she prayed for comfort, for strength, for deliverance. She called upon God, pleading for a sign, for any sign, that He was listening, that He would come to her rescue. Yet, silence filled the room. No answer came.

Frustrated, heartbroken, and lost, Tessy took to social media. The world had to know the unbearable truth of her pain, the unfairness of it all. In a post, her grief poured out in a flood of words.

“What a new year. My world is shattered. This life is useless,” she typed, her fingers shaking with the weight of her emotions. “So I am now a widow after one year of marriage. Ahaaaa…”

The words continued, the rawness of her sorrow seeping through every sentence: “Oh God, I don’t deserve this. If life is fair, my good and kind husband does not deserve this. He’s too good for him to be taken like this.”

The post was shared, the words spreading far beyond her circle, reaching strangers who, like her, could not comprehend the cruel twist of fate that had stolen her happiness. How could someone so kind, so full of love, be taken from her so soon? It didn’t make sense.

Tessy’s mind wandered back to the days before her world had crumbled. Her husband had been everything to her: a devoted partner, a caring soul. The life they had shared had felt like a dream—one that now felt distant, unreachable.

She remembered their wedding day, the joy in their eyes as they exchanged vows, their hearts beating in sync as they promised to spend forever together. That forever had been stolen too soon.

Days turned into weeks, and Tessy tried to find her footing, but every step was a struggle. She returned to Psalm 91, reading the verses again, searching for meaning in a world that seemed so unfair.

Yet, no matter how much she prayed, how much she cried, the silence remained. The absence of an answer from God weighed heavily on her. Could it be that her prayers were unheard? Or was it simply that the answers she sought were not meant to be found just yet?

In the depths of her despair, Tessy found herself at a crossroads, torn between holding onto her faith and surrendering to the overwhelming pain. The world around her seemed indifferent to her suffering, but deep within, a small, flickering hope refused to die.

Perhaps one day, the answers would come. Perhaps, one day, she would understand why her beloved had been taken so soon. But for now, she would hold onto the memory of the love they had shared and continue to pray, even in silence, even in sorrow. For the love of her late husband, and for the strength to face another day without him.
