The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has expressed profound shock and sadness over the passing of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.
The Director-General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, described the late Chief of Army Staff as a dedicated and fearless soldier who served the nation with unwavering commitment and distinction.
In his words, “The National Orientation Agency joins the entire nation in mourning the loss of this exceptional officer who gave his all in the service of our great country, His contributions to the fight against insurgency and the protection of our territorial integrity will never be forgotten,” he added.
Mallam Issa-Onilu noted that the late Chief of Army Staff was a strong advocate for national unity and cohesion, values that align with the mandate of NOA. “We will miss his strategic guidance and support in our efforts to promote patriotism and civic responsibility among Nigerians,” he added.
The NOA boss commiserated with the Nigerian Army, the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, and and all of our men fighting for the defence of our motherland. “May God grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he prayed.
The DG called on Nigerians to unite in solidarity with the Nigerian Army and the bereaved family, saying that “We must draw strength from the sacrifices of our fallen heroes and recommit ourselves to the values of patriotism, discipline, and selfless service that the late Chief of Army Staff embodied,” he said.
