Kogi Police Commissioner assures residents of peaceful celebration

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha has assured the people of the State of the Command’s unwavering commitment in ensuring the safety of lives and property before, during and after the Easter celebration.

According to a statement issued by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) SP William Ovye Aya on Friday, the Commissioner disclosed this while addressing the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), and their Supervisory Area Commanders as well as Tactical Commanders.

Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that Aya noted that, the Commissioner directed them to deploy adequate Security assets ahead of celebration to prevent any untoward situation in their respective Area of Responsibility (AOR) and to ensure peaceful and hitch-free celebration.

The statement added that, “The CP directed the DPOs to implement crime prevention strategies adopted by the Command and carry out intensive crime prevention Patrols along the major highways, Residential and Vulnerable points, places of worship and other places of public intersection.

“The CP while congratulating the Christians faithful in the State on the occasion the year 2024 Easter celebration, reiterates the Command’s unwavering commitment in synergy with other Security Agencies in ensuring the safety of lives and property of all and denying space for criminal elements to thrive in and around the State”.

He added that, the Commissioner of Police urges the good people of Kogi State to be conscious throughout the period and beyond.

“He equally urged them to continue to collaborate with the Police and other Security Agencies and volunteer credible and timely information on the activities of criminal elements in the State” the statement added.
