The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kogi State Command, has decorated 143 newly promoted officers in the command.
Three officers were promoted to the rank of Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC), eight to the rank of Assistant Commandant (ACC), two to Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC), while 130 others were promoted and decorated respectively.
In his short remarks during the ceremony at NSCDC Kogi Command Headquarters, Lokoja, the State Commandant, Ahmad Gandi, congratulated the officers on their promotion saying it was a great privilege.
The commandant advised the promoted officers to be more committed responsible and diligent to duties, saying their new elevated position is a great task.
“The government, the society and your masters in the corps are expecting a lot from you, so, you have to be up and doing to show that you merit it,” Gandi said.
The commandant assured the people of the state of the NSCDC commitment to continue to partner and synergise with other sister security agencies in keeping and maintaining law and order in Kogi.
Also speaking, the Police Commissioner, Kogi State Command, Akeem Yusuf, enjoined the officers to show good examples to other below them so that they could emulate them.
The police commissioner stressed that more were expected from them as they carried out their duties.
One of the promoted officers, DCC Adebayo Fashakin, who spoke on behalf of others, thanked the Commandant for his effort in making the promotion a reality during his tenure.
Fashakin assured the commandant the commitment of the officers to continue to be responsible and diligent to duties.
The representatives of other sister security agencies like the Nigerian Correctional Services, Nigerian Immigration Services, among others were present at occasion.
