The Management and staff of National Inland Waterways Authority, have been challenged to redouble their efforts towards justifying government’s huge investment in water transportation.
The Managing Director/CEO NIWA, Chief Dr. George Moghalu gave the charge while speaking at the 2021 end of year get together organized for NIWA staffers in Lokoja, yesterday.
He urged the staff to redouble their efforts in Revenue generation and best practices in the years ahead.
The MD promised to leave NIWA better than he met it and challenged members of his staff to embrace team work in order to achieve the goal.
Moghalu also charged the staff to reciprocate government’s adequate care for them through hard work and dedication to their duties.
He said that effort is on for a more robust salary incentives for the organization in the coming year, reason why they must strive to justify Government huge investment.
While pointing out that workers want better conditions of service, he tasked the Staff to improve on internally generated Revenue, do the right thing at the right time, and do what is expected for the organization to achieve result as a way of justifying government’s huge investment in the Sector.
The MD reiterated the commitment of the Management to all that is needed towards motivating the staff and in improving their welfare.
While he challenged the staff to strive in achieving excellence in the coming year, the MD urged the staff to see NIWA as their property assurring that the Management will not relent in its responsibilities.
Highlights of the 2021 NIWA end of year get together party was presentation of awards to best performing area offices and best staff as well as presentation of gifts to deserving staff.
