The Wase Bible University in Delta State has promised to partner Itsekiri Kingdom in the areas of sociocultural development and ethical revolution to meet the challenges of the millennium.
The Chairman of the Governing Board of the University, Dr. Ambrose Vhovhen gave the pledge on Tuesday when he led a delegation of the institution on a condolence visit to the royal Palace of the Olu of Warri over the passage of His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, the immediate past Olu, who joined his ancestors last December.
Dr. Vhovhen, who paid glowing tributes to the late monarch noted that even though his reign was short, His Majesty Ogiame Ikenwoli contributed immensely to the transformation of Warri Kingdom.
He also acknowledged the virtues of the late royal father in the areas of educational and social advancement of his people.
Dr. Vhovhen declared, “We feel your pain. We wish the Itsekiri nation the fortitude to bear the great loss”.
He then assured that the University will continue to build bridges of support for the Palace just as he enjoined the people of Itsekiri Kingdom to continue to uplift the positive attributes of the deceased monarch.
This, he said, they can do by continuing to live together in love and harmony with their neighbours, thus promoting peace and progress in the community.
He used the occasion to counsel the Olu-designate, Prince Tsola Emiko to “take everybody as one in order to build on the legacies of the late monarch”.
In a response, the Regent of Warri Kingdom, Prince Emmanuel Okotie-Eboh thanked the delegation for their solidarity with the Itsekiri nation “at this painful period”.
The Regent remarked that the Itsekiris would be looking forward to their continued support for the community.
