Former Tottenham manager, Tim Sherwood has showered praises on Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho after his goal-scoring exploit for Leicester City in the Premier League.
He is the Foxes’ top scorer this season with 17 goals, the first time since 2014-15 that Jamie Vardy has been in danger of not leading the way.
So far in his 34 appearances this season, the former Manchester City forward has scored 10 goals in the Premier League, four FA Cup goals, and four Uefa Europa League goals.
Speaking ahead of Leicester City’s clash today against Newcastle in the ‘Weekend Premier League Preview’ on Football Plus, Sherwood stated that the Nigerian international has handled the Foxes goal-scoring responsibility perfectly.
“Iheanacho has handled Leicester City’s goal responsibility very well since Jamie Vardy has not been scoring. Iheanacho is a quality player and I know he will be difficult to handle against Newcastle.”
