Leaders of the Okpe nation on Sunday described Delta State House of
Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Monday Ovwigho Igbuya as one of the best things
to have ever happened to Sapele.
They also praised the presiding officer of the Delta State House of
Assembly for building the people and the area.
In a statement signed by the chairman of Amukpe Community, Hon. Godday
Okpako and General Secretary, Mr. Francis Idonoro, the leaders commended
Igbuya for the tremendous contributions he has made towards the development
of the community.
“Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya is a man of dignity, wisdom and compassion. His
leadership style has brought smiles to the faces of the people in Amukpe”
the leaders said.
Apart from addressing burning issues on the floor of the House, the leaders
listed the drainage to River Ethiope, construction of blocks of classroom
at Ovwore Primary School, Ibada-Amukpe, good road network and empowerment
of the people as areas that distance Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Igbuya from
other politicians in the country.
The leaders who did a thorough appraisal of the current administration,
congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Rt. Hon Monday Igbuya for their
achievements, particularly in executing development programmes and
opportunities to the grassroots level of the state.
They advised those resorting to ill-directed propaganda to look for better
things to do.
“Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya is a pragmatic planner. He sees politics as
service. As local government chairman, Igbuya was bent on ensuring that
Sapele would turn a better place than it was. He wasted no time in evolving
policies and programmes for the transformation of the area into a
progressive political entity”.
“The people’s Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has within a short but
challenging period re-directed the faith of our great state and given
Deltans the renewed hope for unity, peace and economic prosperity “the
leaders added.
