Now Bush gets hugged by the internet: Social media can’t resist photoshopping picture of Michelle Obama hugging former president. Recall that First Lady Michelle Obama had hugged former president George W. Bush during the opening of the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC on Saturday.
Michelle, who was stood beside Bush, grasped her husband’s predecessor’s hand and put her other arm around his shoulder as the two smiled proudly.
But, with the internet being what it is, it was only a matter of time before people fired up Photoshop and edited the touching photograph.
Sure enough, countless edits of the image popped up on Saturday night and Sunday morning, with most opting to replace Bush in the picture.
In what is probably the most implausible of all the edited pictures, Michelle Obama gave Republican nominee Donald Trump a huge hug.
One of the more popular altered photos, based on how many views it racked up, showed Obama wrapping her arms around Bush – who had donned a Batman pajamas onesie.
Another showed the First Lady hugging an actual bush, and another had been edited to include John Travolta awkwardly leaning in to kiss Bush on the cheek.
Considering it is election season, it should come as no surprise another popular edit was changed to show the First Lady with her arms around Republican nominee Donald Trump.
Michelle served as a shoulder to cry on in another picture, with Brad Pitt swapped out for the former president.
