Samsung Electronics West Africa has introduced the world’s first Curved SUHD TV to Nigerian consumers at a launch organized to unveil its new range of Ultra High Definition televisions. Nigerian consumers now have the opportunity to purchase the new SUHD TV which marks a monumental leap into the future of television viewing, setting a new standard in premium UHD content and elevating consumers’ viewing experience to new levels.
Speaking at the unveiling of the TV, Managing Director at Samsung Electronics West Africa, Mr. Brovo Kim, said that the TV gives a new meaning to TV experience and consumers, providing users with easy access to desired content, an integrated entertainment experience and more choices than ever before.
He reiterated that the new SUHD TV highlight the most refined television experience ever, with the adoption of the latest technology that users should expect from Samsung’s smart TVs. “The SUHD TV celebrates a major milestone in the UHD era, delivering superior picture quality with stunning contrast and striking brightness. Included in the product is the SUHD re-mastering engine which automatically analyses the brightness of images to minimize additional power consumption, whilst expressing excellent contrast levels. Images have much darker blacks and an elevated brightness two-and-a-half times brighter than conventional TVs, with twice the color adjustment points” he added.

The SUHD TV nano-crystal semi-conductor transmits different colors of light depending on their size in order to ensure the highest purity and light efficiency available today. This technology provides for a wide range of more accurate colors, providing viewers with twice the adjustment points and 64 times more expression than conventional TVs, making it a game changer.

Sophisticated And Improved Curved Designs
The SUHD TV is a game-changer that evolves in terms of hardware, software, content and the overall ecosystem with display made from Samsung’s proprietary, eco-friendly nano-crystal semiconductors, which transmit different colours of light, depending on their size, to produce the highest colour purity and light efficiency.
Also speaking at the event, Mr. Sunil Kumar, Director, Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics West Africa stated that, when Samsung introduced the curved form-factor in 2013, it dramatically enhanced the home entertainment experience for consumers. Taking cues from contemporary art and architecture, Samsung televisions have been continually designed and enhanced with many modern and minimalist highlights.
According to Kumar, the introduction of SUHD TV provides consumers with an extremely improved home entertainment experience that is both true-to-life and has never been seen before.
“Samsung SUHD TV JS9500 will feature Samsung’s Chamfer bezel design, adding more depth to the TV screen, and the elegant frame makes the TV look like a piece of art when mounted on the wall ,it also has a soft, textured shirring design on the back, ensuring the TV maintains its stylish edge from any angle” said Kumar.
Samsung Smart TVs are also powered by Tizen, which provides better connectivity and gives developers a more robust and easier platform for which to create new applications. It also ensures that consumers will have access to a much broader range of Smart TV content and services than ever before.
Other features of the SUHD TV include, Enhanced Smart Hub, fast play and return, Octa-core Processor. The Quick Connect feature, automatically searches for Samsung mobile devices nearby and connects them via BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) technology, seamlessly sharing content from a mobile device to a TV and vice-versa with just one click.
Users can now watch live broadcasts or recorded programs on their mobile devices, anywhere on their home network, even when their TV power is turned off.
The Milk Video feature allows consumers to seamlessly discover, collect and share all of the web’s best videos. It curates the most popular and compelling video clips from numerous websites, giving consumers access to premium content from a rapidly-growing list of almost 50 content partners.
With the new SUHD TV, Samsung is strengthening its legacy of introducing televisions that have the best in class design, superior performance as well as feature innovations that Nigerians have grown to love, giving consumers a reason to upgrade.
Samsung will offer two new series of SUHD TVs – JS9500 and JS9000– in 4 screen sizes from 88”, 78” 65” and 55”, so consumers are able to purchase not only the best possible picture, but a TV that best fits their needs.
