Globacom has provided a unique communications facility for the staff of the Federal Ministry of Aviation in Nigeria. Particularly designed to serve the purpose of the Ministry, the facility will also allow members of staff to communicate with their families at no cost.
The package, which consists of special lines with toll-free facilities within a mini network, is for the entire staff of the Ministry and will assist them to effectively perform their duties through seamless, qualitative and cost-effective communication with one another.
Commenting on the package when it was launched in Abuja recently, Globacom’s Head of Public Sector, Mr. Tunde Amunikoro said: “Communication is key to efficient service delivery and speed and that is why we in Glo are excited to partner with the Aviation Ministry on the special lines. We believe the efficiency of the Aviation Sector is going to move several notches higher with this service.”
He explained that the essence of the Aviation special package is to enable the Ministry staff to send or receive alerts and reach out to critical stakeholders, particularly those in distress, without being encumbered by the non-availability of recharge cards, even in the remotest part of the country.
He further explained that those who receive the lines are only required to pay a monthly rental of N1,000 and they will then be able to communicate with all those who have the special lines including their families, for free, throughout the month without incurring extra cost on airtime.
Amunikoro said that family members were included in the package to ensure that apart from on-the-job effectiveness, all the staff of the Aviation Ministry who are on the special package lines will have peace of mind as they can remain connected at no extra cost with their families from anywhere in the country. “They can call their loved ones and their loved ones can call them without worrying about tariff.
