A group of women in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Thursday took to the streets in Abuja, protesting the likely return of former women leader, Dr. Kema Chikwe to her position.

They arrived the party’s secretariat early in the morning insisted that they will not allow anybody to impose any candidate on them.

They also rejected the return of former national publicity secretary, Olisa Metuh. Their protest it was gathered, was informed by the alleged favouring of the duo to return to their positions  bythe hierarchy of the party.

The women, who converged at the party’s headquarters in Abuja, called for an open convention where the delegates will be free to vote for people of their choice.

This was as women members of the PDP from Imo State have declared their support for Dr. BetyNnadi who is in the race for the position of National Woman Leader. Addressing a cross section of the media in Abuja, the party’s Woman Leader in Orlu Senatorial Zone of the state, Mrs.  Ngozi Ihemdi said her members are giving their support to Nnadi based on her track records.

“As the leader of Imo –West PDP, I am assuring you that this time around, we are going to be very meticulous in our choice. We will vote wisely and our wise votes will go to  Dr BettyNnadi, for so many reasons, among them are that  you can see that she is a mother and a mother to the core”, she said.
