Manchester United and Arsenal have both been linked with Roma’s Tammy Abraham but the Chelsea striker is said to be enjoying life in Italy working under Jose Mourinho.
A bizarre contract clause means Tammy Abraham’s agent will be more than happy to see the striker stay at Roma.
The England international has enjoyed a scintillating debut campaign in Serie A, netting 27 goals in all competitions and helping Jose Mourinho’s side win the inaugural Europa Conference League. Abraham’s form has prompted inevitable speculation over a potential return to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Manchester United both linked.
However, Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport claim the former Chelsea star’s agent is banking a sizable bonus with each passing transfer window the 24-year-old remains in the Italian capital. Neil Fewings is reportedly paid £345,000 – providing the agent with plenty of incentives to convince the striker to stay with Roma for a little while longer yet.
Abraham made a promising start to his senior career with Chelsea, and has already registered 90 goals in English football. However, the former Aston Villa and Swansea City loanee fell out of favour at Stamford Bridge under Thomas Tuchel and was sold as the Blues brought in Romelu Lukaku.
Chelsea reportedly inserted a buyback clause of around £70 million into the sale, meaning the Blues could yet move to re-sign Abraham for a fixed fee in 2023. However, the report from Corriere Dello Sport also outlines that the striker is happy with life in Italy, and is not looking for a return to England anytime soon.
Speaking ahead of the Europa Conference League final victory over Feyenoord, Abraham told BT Sport: ‘I would say I’m more than happy here. Just the experience here, I had the experience of just the derby game. Derby games of course are big, but here they filled the roads weeks before the game.
