Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole has called on Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora to throw their weight behind the presidential ambition of  Governor  Yahaya Bello come 2023.

The Speaker made the call yesterday in Okene during the celebration of the 24th anniversary of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim, on the throne of his forefathers.

The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland who doubles as the Acting President, Kogi State Traditional Council  used the occasion to Confer a Traditional Title on Sir Barnabas Ojiah Adeku as the EYIZE of EBIRALAND, (Eye of Progress).

The Speaker eulogized the Royal Father for his fatherly role and giant support to the New Direction administration in the state, prayed that God will continue to give him good health, long life, wisdom, knowledge and sound understanding to still contribute to the overall development of not only Kogi State but the entire country and humanity at large.

The Speaker said despite the fact that the occasion is to celebrate and rejoice with the newly crown Eyize of Ebiraland, it is imperative to continue to sensitizing all Kogities on the importance of their support to Governor Yahaya Bello’s quest to lead the country in the next dispensation.

He said there is no gainsaying that Kogi State remained the safest state in the country as at today, courtesy of his leadership acumen, aside his giant strides in other sectors in the state like civil service reform, massive infrastructure development across the state, health and education.

He said the House of Assembly under his watch will continue to partner with all relevant stakeholders to make laws that will promote good governance in the state, describing the Eyize of Ebiraland, Sir. Barnabas Ojiah as a brother, friend and in-law that is dependable and ready to sacrifice for his people and humanity.

Kolawole charged him to raise the bar of his commitment and dedication to the service of his people as a new traditional title holder in the community, praying that God will grant him all he requires to succeed as the Eyize of Ebiraland.
