Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed the District Head of Gidan Zaki, in Atyap Chiefdom, Zango Kataf local government area of Kaduna state along with one of his sons.
The armed men were said to have arrived the community at about 12 midnight on Monday and killed the District Head, Mr. Haruna Kuyet, his son and also shot his wife who is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Confirming the attack to Newsmen, the Zango Kataf Local Government Council Secretary, Mr. Elisha Sako, condemned the attack by yet to be identified gunmen.
He said security operatives have since been deployed to the community to restore normalcy and trail the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
The attack is coming at a time the Government, Atyap Chiefdom and other NGOs have been holding series of meetings and engagements to restore confidence between and amongst the people of diverse beliefs in the area.
