Some youths of Eket local government have risen from a parley with the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Mr Essien Ndueso to reaffirm their resolve to remain in total support of the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel in his transformation drive of Akwa Ibom state.

The youths known as the Dakkada Ambassador in Eket, went with the Governor’s media aide round the Eket metropolis for first hand assessment of the avalanche of projects executed by Governor Emmanuel in the area.

Among the projects visited were the ongoing Eket Modern Sports Stadium which work has reached considerable stage, the Eket Urban remodeling project along Atabong road, some roads projects and the Urua Nka Eket Market location, which is meant to be replaced by an ultra modern international market.

At the stadium site, Mr. Ndueso explained to them that the project which is an all covered stand edifice will add to the aesthetics and city furniture of the oil city and also promote grassroots sports development.

He said apart from the employment opportunities to the youths in the construction processes, the economic life of the area will be stimulated by the stadium, the new market and numerous roads projects.

He lamented that despite the abundant natural wealth from the area, which contributes significantly to the economic lifeline of the country, the APC-led federal government has failed to execute a single project in the entire Eket Federal Constituency and senatorial district.

He maintained that the ambassadors need to make strong advocacyes for the federal government to also give back a little of what it is gaining from the area by putting up capacity development projects in the area.

“that our natural aquatic and terrestrial farming life have been destroyed by the decades of oil exploitation and exploration, yet nothing tangible from the federal government to compliment the sacrifices of the core oil communities in Eket.

Essien Ndueso encouraged the ambassadors to stand out to promote the government of Governor Udom Emmanuel out rightly using the footprint achievement of the governor scattered across the state, and in their area.

Just last week a team led by BlackRhino and Dangote Group had reached an understanding with the state government to construct a 570mw power plant in Ibeno.

He said as ambassadors, the youths were the Governor’s representatives in their respective villages to project the soaring profile of the governor, galvanize support for the protection of government projects and utilities in their locales and also preach the dakkada gospel of self reliance and hardwork to other youths.
The Dakkada Ambassadors in Eket, led by Comrade Bassey Bassey took time to thank the Governor’s media Assistant for coming, they reaffirmed that there was no need to panic as the governor would be delivered fully in each wards in the area.
