A socio-political organisation, Kogi Emancipation Network (KEN) on Sunday called on Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, to beware of his antagonists and moles especially those “greedy and selfish enemies within the All Progressives Congress (APC) who are impervious to positive change.”
The organisation therefore demanded the sack of Alhaji Hadi Ametou-led APC State executives “for working against the party and the state government.”
The Executive Director of KEN, Mallam Idris Kasim, in a statement obtained by journalists in Lokoja in commemoration of the governor’s 100 days in Office, said Bello has succeeded in turning the state around with his achievements, despite the N44.6 billion debt profile he inherited from Idris Wada’s administration.
According to him, the score card of Governor Bello’s 100 days in office was very high in the area of his anti-corruption crusade and the fight against impunity and insecurity.
He carpeted the opposition and some dissident APC leaders in the state for not supporting Bello’s policy of reforming the system and putting the state on the part of greatness.
Kasim said, “Hadi Ametou was never elected but imposed on the party. Our candid advice is that governor Bello should ignore him and continue with his good work. The governor should beware of enemies within; his 100 days in office is rated very high in terms of his anti-corruption crusade, fight against impunity and insecurity.
“Bello has used the said period to begin massive reconstruction of the state for the benefit of future generation with meagre resources. Despite the huge debts from his predecessor, he was able to achieve tangible results within 100 days”
He commended the governor for being youth friendly, with the appointment of Hon Edward Onoja as his Chief of Staff and many others based on competence and merit.

The group said major roads are now wearing new looks, while the state civil service has been cleansed of ghost workers through which the former government officials used to fleeced the government of money running into billion of Naira.
