All roads lead to Egba land in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State as Pa Omorodion Lucky Iyare ascends the throne of Odionwere of Egba land in grand style this Easter holidays.
The Odionwere, in Benin Kingdom is usually the most senior male, age-wise, in the community and owns a house therein. He, in collaboration with the Council of elders helps the Oba of Benin Kingdom in the day to day administration of the community.
According to a statement by Mr. Frederick Onaghise, the Chairman, Egba Development Organisation, Lagos Branch, the installation ceremony of Pa Omorodion Lucky Iyare will be a three-day affair which will take place on April 18th, 19th and 20th, 2014 inside the Egba Community Hall.
According to Mr. Onaghise the event programmes will take place as follows: Friday April 18th 2014 will witness the installation of Pa Omorodion Lucky Iyare as Odionwere of Egba land inside the Communit Hall from 3:00pm.
The following day, Saturday, April 19th, 2014 will witness the installation of potential leaders among the youth of the community into the Elders Council of Egba land inside the Community Hall from 12:00pm.
The ceremonies will be rounded up with a Thanksgiving Service at the Egba Baptist Church, Egba land onSunday, April 20th, 2014.
It would be recalled that the immediate past Odionwere of Egba land Pa Ben Ekhovbiye Onaghise transited to the great beyond on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the ripe age of 109 years.
