Anambra People’s Assembly, a non-governmental and non-political association with membership comprising of professionals, businessmen and opinion leaders in communities across Anambra has extoled the qualities of Chief Willie Obiano and Dr Nkem Okeke as being capable of cementing the achievements of Governor Peter Obi in Anambra State, and in the same breath denied ever endorsing the candidature of Dr. Chris Ngige, contrary to claims in some sections of the media.
The public denial by the President General of Anambra People’s Assembly, Chief Peter Okoye, Akuluo-uno, was made in Enugu over the weekend at the Fundraising dinner in honour of APGA Gubernatorial Candidate, Chief Willie Obiano and his running mate Dr. Nkem Okeke.
Chief Peter Okoye decried the penchant of candidates of some parties to make unsubstantiated claims in order to boost their ego and create the impression of having mass followership.
He however extolled the qualities of APGA and the choice Chief Willie Obiano as the party’s candidate, assuring the party of the unflinching support of the members of the Assembly.
Chief Okoye further explained that the Assembly has over three thousand strong members and are mobilizing to ensure that the November 16, 2013 election would produce the best candidate for Anambra State and advised the contestants to stick to issues in their campaign and avoid personality attacks.
The successful Fundraising dinner was attended by prominent Enugu based politicians, businessmen and women who were presented with the imperatives of electing the APGA candidate Chief Willie Obiano and Nkem Okeke, in the coming elections as well as the score-card of Governor Peter Obi administration in Anambra State.
