No going back on party discipline -Tukur…PDP will recapture lost states

Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) on Monday said it would not compromise discipline among its members. This was as it said it does not q require a merger or coalition to win future elections.
National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukursaid this whole addressing the press in Abuja.
He said: “The PDP as a National Political Party has put into place recently some measures of ensuring internal democracy in the Party to resolve amicably issues affecting the interest of the membership of the Party.
“In line with this policy, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party under my leadership recently set-up a reconciliation Committee as an avenue to reconcile aggrieved members of the Party to bring peace and Concord into the fold of our Party faithfuls. This is in keeping with my Political philosophy of 3 Cardinal Rs, which is Reconciliation, Reformation and Rebuilding.
“As the National Chairman of the PDP. My commitment to the ideals of our founding Fathers is total and unwavering. In trying to actualize these ideological pursuits, the leadership of the PDP has taken a number of decisions also to ensure the proper institutionalization of discipline in the Party as the basis for ensuring internal democracy and smooth administration of the Party under my leadership.
“As part of these programmes and efforts a disciplinary  Committee headed by Dr. Umaru Dikko has also been set-up to make sure that our Party members respect and function in consonance with the letters and Spirit of our Party Constitution and Manifesto.
“It will be recalled also that the National Executive Committee of the Party, the (NEC) which I am also the Chairman by virtue of out Party’s Constitution had earlier set-up a National Convention Committee and South-West Congresses for elections into vacant positions in the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Party and the South-West Zonal leadership of the Party.
“In the recent past the media has been awash with events of accusations and counter accusations from some of our party members.
As much as we as a Party respect the Constitutional right of individuals to public opinions, movement and Association, such exercise should be done with some element of civility and in keeping with the norms of the society, the Party’s constitution and guidelines.
“To this effect it is advisable that Party faithfuls who are aggrieved, should use the Party’s internal resolution platform, that is to say the Party’s reconciliation Committee or the leadership of the Party.
“As the National Chairman of the PDP, I will take the Party to greater heights under my leadership and ensure that we recapture most of the States we lost to other parties and win more States for our Party.
“In line with this, the National Working Committee has set-out guidelines for the Anambra State Governorship elections with the Ward Congresses now in progress.
“Our commitment to the people of Anambra State is to work hard and put in place a PDP administration in the State that will deliver in abundance democratic dividends to the people of the State as is reminiscent in other PDP controlled States Nation-wide.
“On the issue of INEC registration of the APC, the PDP as a Party in power at the Federal and most of the State Governments welcome the APC onboard the political terrain of Nigerian politics.
“PDP as a united and formidable political organization under a big and unshakable umbrella does not require a merger or coalition with any political organization to face any other political party in the country to implement her genuine economic progremmes aimed at alleviating the sufferings of Nigerian masses under the Transformation Agenda of our Dear President Dr. Ebele Goodluck Jonathan”.
